President’s Message
December, 2004
HAPPY THANKSGIVING
There are times when we feel like the world is against us and we are carrying too heavy a burden, but; we all have something good to give thanks for. At HAVOC you know you always have friends here to help you. Just look around and give thanks for the many blessings we have. The holiday season is coming upon us and as we approach this time let us take this special spirit generosity and thankfulness throughout the year as we help each other.
As we approach the end of this year we can look at the great attendance this past year. November was especially well attended with 31 members and guests present to hear.
Jean Parlow with the MPO, Bicycle/Pedestrian Task Force talk about a program called “Walkable Communities” coming up in the spring. We need to make a special effort to attend the workshops since pedestrian safety is one of the main goals of HAVOC.
The December meeting will be the holiday celebration with a covered dish luncheon. Please come and bring a dish to share. Following the food and a short business meeting we will have a Chinese gift exchange. Everyone is asked to bring a $5.00 generic gift.
Remember, the election of Officers is at the February, 2005 meeting. Anyone interested in serving on the board should contact Dominick Sileo, Nominating Committee Chairman. HAVOC has come a long way this year with accessibility and pedestrian safety issues. We need to keep the momentum going into the next year with good solid leadership.
