President’s Message

January, 2005

Wow! 43 members and guests and four service dogs present. There were seven new members signed up. Thanks to Nick Nagy and his membership efforts, the organization has had tremendous growth this past year. Also, thanks to all of you for talking HAVOC up to you friends. I remember times when there were 8 or 9 people at a meeting. We need everyone’s involvement to keep the momentum of HAVOC going into the New Year.

We also appreciate Frank Bruno taking time from his busy schedule to stop by and thank everyone for their support in his election as Chair of the Volusia County Council. Mr. Bruno pledged his continued support in addressing issues affecting disabled citizens.

At our January meeting, Dominick Sileo, Chairman of the Nominating Committee, will give his report on Officers to be nominated for the coming year.  Officers will be voted on at the February meeting and take office in March. The new officers can only be effective if you give them your full support as you have the current officers for the past few years.

Please come to the January meeting with ideas for the coming year. Your input is needed to make the organization strong and continue our role as true advocates for all handicapped individuals.

Yvonne, Seemor and I wish you a happy holiday and a prosperous new year from our house to yours. See you next year.

David Dixon, President
