President’s Message
March, 2005
One more year. This will be the 5th consecutive year I have served as President of HAVOC. After this year, I will turn the organization over to new leadership. I agreed to serve another year because of the positive progress made this past year on accessibility issues.
HAVOC has been an organization for 28 years and has gone through many transformations. We continue to be recognized and respected as being the number one organization representing all handicaps in the communities we represent. Because of the momentum HAVOC has gained this past year and the great turnout at the meetings, I am honored to serve another year. This will be the year for development of new leadership to take the helm and keep HAVOC on a positive course for the future.
The March 2 meeting will be the installation of new officers by County Council Chairman, Frank Bruno. On April 6, 2005 which is the regular meeting day, we will have a goal setting session. Come with ideas to share and help set the direction for HAVOC in the coming year. We need more involvement from members on the different committees and add new committees if needed. Think about where you would like to serve and be prepared to volunteer. No one person can be successful alone; it takes a team effort to fulfill the HAVOC mission.
Hope to see all of you at the quarterly luncheon meeting in March.
