HAVOC
Aug 3, 2005 Meeting Minutes
President David Dixon called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m.
There were 14 members and 4 guests present.
Introductions were done at this time.
President Dixon introduced the speaker: Ken Fisher. He told use that he would be stepping down from general management for the Votran. And there was a new replacement and her name is Lois Bollenback
We all welcomed her.
A motion and seconded were made to accept the minutes of July 6, 2005
President Dixon asked for Committee Reports
Carol Carmella, Treasurer: Last month’s balance was $1,009.13 as of Aug 3 there is now $902.97
Michael Porter. Pedestrian Safety Chairman: He talked about how Florida now has more money to help repair sidewalks and other needs for all handicapped.
AJ Devies, Accessibility Chairman: AJ talked about a program that she will be working very close, its trying things out before it hits the market to see if it’s workable for all disability. She is working very close with Joan Curter; she is going to let us know more as the months to come.
Nick Nagy, Membership/Publicity Chairperson: He talked about an idea, he feels everyone who gets there driver should get a flyer telling them the laws for White Cane and for handicapped parking spaces. We need to educate them on the laws, there are a lot of them out there that don’t know it. But we need to make everyone accountable for knowing it. There should be a form for each person to sign. This would be a great idea!!
Joan Cleary, Fundraising Committee: You may buy 50/50 tickets before the meeting and after the meeting. Drawing will be held after the meeting is adjourned. The lucky winner this month was AJ Devies $8.00.Congrauation!!
President Dixon. He talked about Diebold not leaving a paper trail and how important it is to have one and why, he went over all the things we have covered in the last few months. He talked about the AutoMark voting machine and how they work, he also talked to everyone about the lawsuit on the voting machine debacle and there was a motion and a seconded, and everyone accepted all in favor for Havoc to be part of the lawsuit. There was a time for all questions and President Dixon answered them.
The phone interview he had on the BradShow was mentioned. The members agreed they wanted to hear the tape he had. So he played a tape of his interview from the BradShow and we all congratulated him for a job well done.
Steve Hoyte is now 94 yrs old, and he is the last of the original Havoc Group members. If anyone would like to give him a call his number is # 252-4154. He could use a friendly call just to know we miss him.
Also our Correspondence Sec’y Pat Lapovski has asked to step down for personal reasons. AJ was asked to act as interim replacement for her and she accepted for the balance of the term.

Those that aren’t paid members by then will be removed from mailing list then. If you are in need of a financial waiver. Then give our president David Dixon a call to make arrangements. 760-3180
