Well, we couldn’t ask for better weather here in sunny Florida this weekend. I walked up the walkway to the top observation platform today at Turtle Mound, south beach New Smyrna Beach in the Canaveral National Seashore. It’s just a short drive down A-1-A South and into the Canaveral National Seashore which costs $10 for the day or you can score passes at a reduced rate. I remember going to Turtle Mound as a child before all the walkways and observation decks were built. We used to run up and down the oyster trails and play hide and seek in the woods. It’s not like that now but there are a couple of trails along the water as well as the beautiful walkways through the natural area. Check out the pictures below taken from the top of the Mound as well. You can see the Intracoastal Waterway on the left and the beautiful Atlantic Ocean beach on the right. It’s a beautiful weekend here in Volusia County and we hope you can get out and enjoy the warm sunshine. As we say here, Another Beautiful Day in Paradise. If you would like to find out more about what’s going on in the area just click here to visit our volusia.com Events Calendar. Take a minute to browse our informative and beautiful site. We have lots of great info, beautiful pictures and so much more. Here are a few more beautiful views from the top of Turtle Mound today.
