New Smyrna Beach

Beaches and Parks are Open But no Fireworks for July 4th 2020

The beaches are open and, as always, they are beautiful. Please try to keep some distance between you when visiting. And don’t forget to take your trash with you when you leave.

Fourth of July Celebrations have been cancelled or postponed across the county this year due to the CoVid Virus precautions in place to keep us all as safe as possible. Some of the Fireworks celebrations may be held on Labor Day if reopening goes well. It will be a wait and see I’m guessing.  NASCAR has  postponed the 4th of July race until August 29 and will make it the last race of the regular season.

Most of our beautiful area is opened, yet there are many changes that will be made. All we can say is please be careful out there and stay safe! We are in this together and we have to get through it all together. Be safe, wear a mask, or not, it’s still your choice in most places. But I feel like it’s more of a courtesy to do so when you are around other people. There are still so many at risk and the “new normal” is still being sought!

Please stay safe and be well and enjoy yourselves in a reasonable and safe way! Here ‘s to many more years of future celebrations and beautiful outdoors here in Volusia County!
