DAYTONA BEACH

ATTRACTIONS

Main Street Pier
1200 Main Street

The Main Street Pier has been a major Daytona Beach attraction for decades. The pier is over seventy-years old, and stretches out 1000 feet. The pier has fun feature attractions such as the sky lift, which takes visitors on an aerial ride over the pier and beach areas, the amazing 180 ft Space Needle Observation Tower, with spectacular views of the ocean, and last but not least, the fantastic Atlantic Ocean for fishing!

Jackie Robinson Ballpark and Statue
105 E. Orange Ave.

Daytona Beach gives respect to ground-breaking individuals, who knocked down racial barriers, and made life more humane for Daytona Beach black residents. Jackie Robinson began his stellar career in baseball in Daytona Beach, for the Jackie Robinson Ballpark in Daytona Beach first hosted integrated Major League Baseball spring training back in 1946. Robinson did not have the same privileges as his white teammates though, but he, along with other notable African Americans, defied racism in Daytona Beach. Robinson, under terrific pressure at the time due to racism, went onto a stellar baseball career.
