It’s another beautiful day at the beach here in New Smyrna Beach, Florida on a very sunny Sunday. Did you know that we have over 40 miles of beaches in Volusia County? You can drive on most of our beaches when the tide permits it but there are car-free beaches as well. Volusia County is one of the largest counties in Florida consisting of over 1200 square miles. Bordered on the east by the Atlantic Ocean and the west by the St. Johns River there is much diversity to be explored. Volusia County is home to several cities: Daytona Beach, New Smyrna Beach, DeLand, Oak Hill, Deltona, Enterprise…just to name a few. And each one has their very own flavor. NASCAR and the beaches are Daytona’s claim to fame, while DeLand is the home of Stetson University, a prestigious private southern university. There is much to do and see in Volusia County, Florida and all it’s beautiful little towns and cities. In Barberville we have the Barberville Pioneer Settlement which is a wonderful place with so much history to be discovered. Come on down for a visit if you haven’t already and all you locals keep checking back with us. We are always adding and updating volusia.com to make it bigger and better. If you have any suggestions for content you would like to see feel free to email me, Mary Crawford, firstname.lastname@example.org. We here at volusia.com are always open to suggestions. Thanks so much for visiting us and keep coming back to see what’s new! Here are a few more pictures of the beach today from Atlantic Plaza where Kyra, another team member of volusia.com, is busy fluffing the pillows! Happy Sunday!
