It’s a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood here in Volusia County!

Friday again, hard to believe but it’s true. Florida is getting our first cool front moving down the state today. We have lots of sunshine and temperatures are very comfortable in the lower 80’s for the highs today and 60’s tonight. We couldn’t ask for better weather. There is so much going on everywhere this weekend and with this great weather it’s a great time to get outside and enjoy! The Volusia County Fair will be wrapping up this weekend with lots of great music and activities. You can even explore the night sky tonight at a special Explore Volusia: Star Tour. Explore the night sky with retired astronomy teacher Hugh Ward Jr. Dr. Ward will comment on the visible planets and other celestial objects as participants observe the night sky through telescopes and binoculars, which will be provided.
Bring a folding chair, insect spray, flashlight and telescope, if you have one. Arrive before sunset. Road conditions are rough.
Volusia County’s Environmental Management Division sponsors Explore Volusia to acquaint residents with the county’s conservation lands and land management practices. Reservations are requested for this program and may be made by calling 386-736-5927. And if that’s not your style check out our Event Calendar to find out about all the great things happening in the area. Oh and pictures are compliments of Kyra today at the beach in New Smyrna Beach, working at Atlantic Plaza Condominium, a great place to stay when you visit our area. And thanks to Mike for the beautiful pictures looking north and south on the Intracoastal from north New Smyrna beachside. Enjoy the weather and the weekend and Be Safe!
